I’m worried this request is partisan and driven by personal interests, but let me assume good faith for a moment and offer an opinion based on what I know about the server.
To me, the balance of power between classes looks the same as on old WoM2 where, after a major update aimed at better class balance (still in place), no one complained that magic classes weren’t strong. What you’re really talking about here seems to be the gap between hit-based classes (Aura Warrior & Weapon Sura) and skill-based classes (the others). A few points:
A) The latest dojang results, as Tasky already analyzed, are balanced - except at level 105, where there’s a player who might simply be more skilled or better geared than the rest (a possibility that doesn’t seem to be considered).
B) Most-played level-105 PvP classes: I see just one Aura Warrior and one Weapon Sura competing seriously in PvP at that lvl range. If these two were truly the strongest characters, why are there only two? Why does no one pick them despite their being excellent in PvM and top in PvP, according whith what you say? Why do most players prefer Mage, Sura, and Archers (I saw many ninja daggers giving up daggers to go archer)? My take: on this server, ranged classes have an extra streght in open-world PvP and people know that and prefer them.
C) Last guild tournament (I don't consider the World Boss PvP stats since the PvP stats system is frankly poor and not meaningful): I rebuilt a top-five by KDR from the individual wars between Hated and RedBasterds (attached; I don’t have them all happy if someone can complete with all wars between the 2 guilds):
RedBasterds
- Kennov — average KDR 1,32 - Archer
- Thron — 0,92 - BM sura
- Lafirynda — 0,56 - Mage
- DonPablo — 0,52 - Weapon sura
- RedBastard — 0,50 - Ninja dagger
- iCrowley — 0,47 - Mental Warrior
Hated
- AcabNr1 — average KDR 12,67 - BM sura
- Exeragon — 3,28 - Mage
- Kreatos — 3,01 - Archer
- Impedanz — 2,35 - Mental Warrior
- AnoBanano — 1,43 - Ninja Dagger
- xBOLTx — 1,39 - Mage
I don't think I need to add anything: for both guilds top3 is all made by ranged classes!
I don’t deny that in the dojang physical classes might have
slightly better odds, but at most that would mean: 1) some of the strongest 1v1 players happen to use physical classes, not that physical classes are inherently stronger; 2) perhaps physical classes enjoy a small edge in 1v1, while ranged classes have a big edge in OPvP.
I’m not trying to inflame the debate; I just think it’s useful to start from empirical data instead of personal opinions.
That said, if the GMs want to run both OPvP and 1v1 proper tests across classes to fine-tune balance, I’m all for it, provided any PvP changes come from a thorough, well-designed testing phase, not a single forum request.
