Rejected Suggestion: Level Protection in map1

I've noticed many people complaining about some players 105 lvl going on free in map1 and killing them for hours and from my perspective is not fair for low lvl players .

Summary:
To ensure fair gameplay and a better experience for new or low-level players, I suggest implementing a restriction that prevents very high-level players (e.g. level 105) from dealing damage to significantly lower-level players in certain zones.

Reasoning:

  • It’s currently unbalanced when max-level players can easily kill low-level players who stand no chance to defend themselves.
  • This discourages new players from exploring the game or participating in open-world activities.
  • It reduces player retention and overall community health in the long run.

Proposed System:

  • Introduce a level difference protection in shared zones.
    For example:
    • Players cannot attack or be attacked by others who are more than X levels higher (e.g., ±25 or ±35 levels).
    • Alternatively, restrict PvP entirely in beginner or mid-level areas.
  • This ensures that PvP remains competitive and fair between players of similar strength.

Benefits:

  • Improves fairness and player satisfaction.
  • Encourages new players to stay longer and enjoy the game.
  • Keeps high-level players motivated to fight others closer to their level.

Even though it might sound like a good idea, I honestly think it’s not. Metin is a war game and in war, the strongest wins.

There are 6 channels, a lot of farming spots, and all kinds of areas to play in. Saying it would “encourage players” makes no sense bcs this isn’t Farmville and it’s not a server made just for farming.

If low-level players cry about dying, they’ll cry even more at higher levels when they die there too.

And let’s not forget: many top players already have pvp characters at level 39, 55, and 79 made specifically for dojang so again, it wouldn’t make any sense.

I agree with you on that side , what i'm trying to say is think about lvl 30 players for example trying to find something in shops and not being able to look because people are spamming him with skills

Cue people camping the fucking medium Monkey Dungeon with their 105 while farming there with their 42 or whatever.

I'd rather get killed by a 59 pvp char in whatever mid-level farming map than be chased by a lv. 105. Not to mention I've had instances where I upset a Temple farmer while farming there and for almost 1 hour I had a whole squad of lv. 105s tryna find me.

A +/- 20-ish level restriction on open world PvP sounds completely reasonable. This has always been an issue, much higher level "professional players" going for kills and glory on much lower level characters.

If I die to a farmer or PvP char that's within reasonable level of me, fair enough, all the more to improve my character or my PvP char. If I die to the lv. 105 main character or friend of a farmer who got his ego hurt 'cause he died or lost a metin - what can I do?

bcs this isn’t Farmville and it’s not a server made just for farming.
Indeed, there is very much PvP going around. At the moment this is exactly what this is, especially considering mining - World of Farmville. I doubt there's over 20% of players that farm here for the sake of getting into the PvP scene. It's mostly just nostalgia and boredom, and that's noticeable.

Why noticeable? Because there is really little, little, like very little to do to advance towards, not in, a position where you could say that you didn't play on here just to farm.

Bro i saw the 105 char this post is about kill a level 15 guy that begged him to leave him alone because he just started playing - that's just sad.
I've said it before just cap the kill ranking at +/- 5 maximum 10 levels diff so it doesn't count when a 105 monkey kills a level 15 new player

Market in Shinsoo and Chunjo are basically dead to buy some things you have to go to Jinno , you don't have other choice and you can't look through half of the shops because 2-3 105 lvl players are always attacking everyone. Since when has it been cool to beat people who are lvl 15-50 by some 105 lvl with some aggresion issues? I'd be a little embarrassed tbh. Certain people, regardless of whether it's 7 a.m., 2 p.m., or 11 p.m., run around the M1 circle with their whispers disabled, tormenting lower levels.

At the same time, I agree with Vanity. I have no problem competing with other players in a similar level range, but if someone started playing two years ago and can now torment new players because they need to level up 7 more characters for Meley or other dung, or they need a level 60 drop, then let me focus on that drop char by fighting for a spot.
Nobody wants to take away the PvP element of the game, but you're not telling me that fighting 55 vs. 105 in a temple is a PvP element? Because to me, it's an sick ego element.

The only reasonable thing here would be to have PvP protection for accounts up to level 35, both for players from the same kingdom who enable free PvP and for those coming from another kingdom.

That’s because real PvP starts from level 35+, and there might be level 39 characters who just want to have some fun with free PvP in Map1.

The game has open-world PvP — don’t ruin it!

Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to share your suggestion and for expressing concern about the experience of lower-level players. We understand that situations like these can be frustrating; however, open-world PvP and risk in shared zones are intentional parts of the game’s design and progression system. That said, we’ll continue monitoring player behavior and feedback to ensure that PvP remains engaging and fair for everyone, but we do not plan to introduce level protection systems at this time.

Warm wishes,
Essence.
