Escalated Shop search not marking all shops anymore

I noticed that recently, whenever I search for some items, it does not show all the shops right away. Let's say there there are 8 shops with a specific item, then I walk over the entire marketplace, but only see for example 4-5 marked shops.
Then I search again, and the other shops show as well.
At first, I blamed it on me, thinking I'm just blind,. But talking to others revealed that it is not just me who noticed that.

My theory is, that there is a certain radius, in which the shops get marked. Then, once you walk over the marketplace in search of the other shops, and then search again, you are in the radius for the other - previously unmarked - shops. But this is just a hunch, might be completely unrelated of course.

+1 , also tends to happen when you research something around blacksmith area in Jinno and shops do not get marked up around store keeper area(not always the case), only for the arrow to appear in that area when you press search once again.

It's the same in chunjo even though there are fewer shops there than ever before.

Just to add: I think my theory about the radius is wrong. I paid attention, and sometimes unmarked shops were in quite close proximity, once they got revealed by a 2nd search.
