Rejected NPC buys items

Hello everyone, many players are complaining about the difficulty of selling dropped items, probably due to the low player population. On some servers, to improve the situation, we could introduce an NPC that buys upgrade items and chests. Of course, the prices would be decided by the staff while taking the in-game economy and current market prices into account, with values slightly lower than the prices set by players in the market.

If implemented intelligently, this system could help maintain a minimum price for certain items. For example, if an Orc Tooth could always be sold to the NPC for 1kk, players would never sell it for less than that amount. This would also make farming more profitable for new players. The same applies to the thousands of upgrade items we accumulate in the level 90 maps.

Obviously, we would have to accept earning a little less compared to selling through our personal shops, but at least players would feel more motivated to play and farm, because they would know that everything they collect can still be sold instead of remaining unsold for weeks.

If properly balanced, it could also help keep the value of certain items stable, preventing prices from dropping too low; otherwise, farming those items would eventually cost more than the actual profit gained from selling them.

What do you think about this idea?

I disagree with your idea. I think that having such a deep control over the prices would strip away the overall game from any organic development. The market would be stiff and predictabile, which would lead to boredom and attrition among players.

I think keeping the game and the market natural and unhindered by imposed prices is much better.

but it's not so much a price constraint, we need to facilitate the sale of items that remain there for weeks, those who want to wait sell them at higher prices, those who need cash sell them at a reduced price in the NPC

Some people in Jinno have thousands of stacked items in their stores that won't sell, ever. The market in Chunjo is absolutely dead, non existent. I have to take everything to Jinno (level <75) because nothing sells in Chunjo except maybe for changers.

An NPC selling items at a fixed price sounds a bit like socialism in its purest form. 'The state will take care of you.' ('This time it has to work.' XD)

Although the market is currently struggling with various problems I consider this particular idea a failure, slowly destroying the economy.

Hi,

Thank you for your suggestion. We've decided not to move forward with it.

Warm wishes,
