Normal pickaxe should allow to mine ALL normal veins and the new pickaxes to only be useful for the overcharged veins.

Right now, if you want to upgrade your pickaxe, you are stuck to map1 to mine for 100 Diamonds 100 Copper and 100 Fossils... how is this going to push/motivate anyone to progress faster in game, if you keep him/her for months in map1 to just mine?

Yeah who cares about the rpg aspect. Let us all become one chinese hivemind. Pickaxe+4 (almost+5) totally shouldnt be able to mine basic ores. How silly of me to think that way, hahahahaha
Reading mining books is dumb too. Why did i even make it P on multiple chars? what a waste. Another silly of me. hahahaha
The complete system turned upside down but who cares? What a silly dude i am, am i right?Yall heard of "Never touch a running system." ? Silly phrase, right? What a silly thing to say. hahahaha
fr change it back pls @admins

Idk why the points necessary were not tweaked... like 9.6k points to do a pickaxe from +4 to +5... i don't even wanna know how much from +5 to +6 or from +6 to +7.. and how many times it can fail

Roughly 1 week of mining about 6-7 hours (more some days) per day.
Mined about 35k-ish (approximately) ore per character.
Each character did around 3k mining points on their pickaxe.

Let's assume an average of 3 hours per day of mining someone can allocate.
It would take about 15 days for someone to collect 3k mining points - 5 days for 1k points.

Pick +0 > +1 - 600 points - approx. 2 days.
Pick +1 > +2 - 1200 points - approx. 6 days.
Pick +2 > +3 - 2400 points - approx. 12 days.
Pick +3 > +4 - 4800 points - approx. 24 days.
Pick +4 > +5 - 9600 points - approx. 38 days.
Pick +5 > +6 - 19200 points - approx. 76 days.
Pick +6 > +7 - 38400 points - approx. 152 days.

Approximately 310 days to get to mine beta ores.
Approximately 158 days to get to mine Heaven's Tear.

I'd understand this time investment if it was applied only to Overcharged Ores. You want to have 4% more pierce on your HTN? Sure, if you wanna mix-max, you gotta invest the time.

But 152 consecutive days of 3 hours of mining, every single day, not taking into account Pickaxe upgrade fails, the time to buy/farm stones for what ores you mine, and the actual time to play the game. Imagine every hour of play for the next half a year you'd have your other character able to farm (Farm Block System) searching for ores.

I'm sorry, but I already have a job and would probably have more fun if I took another part-time one or find an actually enjoyable hobby. I don't even want to imagine how lengthy this process would be if you just liked mining casually every now and then. Of course, this is from the perspective of someone that enjoyed mining for their own ores and selling the excess - which is the intended purpose of mining. Right now it looks like World of Mining 2 - a core game system, at least from the time-investment POV.
I'd probably make a name for myself in high-end gameplay with that time-investment, but that's unlikely - but I'd still get somewhere higher than just being able to mine Heaven's Tear or Beta ores.

I don't know how this got pushed to live honestly. I don't want to even consider the options and possibilities.
Good luck. It was a good run.

Can you also mention the mining skill please?

And that World of Minimg 2… so trueeee, loved it.

Obviously P.

It would take another month, assuming you can easily afford the books and there's enough of them on the market, to simply read and level up the skill.
So for new players, the first 1-2 months here, if they also want to interact with the mining system, will also be quite unprofitable due to them not having P mining. A chore. A job.

2 years after server start you make it take an extra year, at minimum, of only mining, for people to be able to mine all types of ores.

Such well put overview of this ridicilious update. Idk what else they need to see to be convinced.

I just wanna point out since staff probably forgot, they put x100 refined ores from beta to craft each of the high level belts so odds are a fresh level 90+ player will need years to craft a belt or a too big investment to buy x100 refined ores to craft a belt XD

It's OK...

At least we have these 4 players, maybe 2, or maybe 1 player that we can count on - been rocking a max tier pick since the first days of the update. I'm sure their stock is plentiful.
2 chars there are the top 2 miners of all time and I'm yet to see their opinion on this update - even if a supportive one...

Edit: as you can see, I'm still giving mining a shot, even if every single insta-disappearing vein feels worse and worse.
Edit 2: ores are just flying from those +9 picks it's actually crazy...

We all know who that is right?

Anyway, I'm hoping for a change or at least a reply from the team with some clarification... as much as i wanted to love this chapter update, in every aspect there's a great idea but not the best execution -to say it kindly

Careful bro u might get banned.Ive watched them mine one day they got like 5-8k ores per char in like 10minutes max,all maxed out pickaxes, which means they can get more money mining like that than a perfect beta account farming

What should we know?...
Anyway, it's becoming a little bit suspicious...

Out of 5 top miners of all time, 4 of them are in the same guild - but these 2 have only tier-2 pickaxes. Still weird that 4 of the top miners here are in the same guild, wearing the same costumes and all that - I thought bypassing the Multi Farm Block with multiple devices is frowned upon... I guess we'll never know for sure.

Very sus and very sad overall for the casual miners out there. The top is being held by one guild, probably 1-2 people max. At least they could be a little less obvious.

Is this the reason the team is not replying to mining threads but accepted the Vein Compass thread? I feel like most of the players that voiced their opinion are against this change, so is this person that important that we're not seeing a reply, negative, positive, or neutral from the staff?

Hi,

Thank you for your suggestion and to everyone for the productive discussions. After careful consideration and thorough conversations, we’ve decided not to move forward with these specific suggestions at this time, and I want to state that this sort of change will not occur. However, we want to assure you that there will be significant tweaks to the mining system in the near future which we believe will make it considerably easier and more efficient for you to use. We appreciate your input and look forward to sharing these improvements with you soon.

Warm wishes,
Essence.
