Hello,

I have played WoM2 during its first months, and the whole Staff --> Community experience felt totally different, there used to be more communication and involvement of the community, compared as of today, these days the community and the staff hate each other from my perspective, on short, the community hates the STAFF, based on the lack of communication and the lack of involvement of the community when it comes to considering different aspects of the gameplay and so on, and, MAYBEEEEE  the STAFF hates the community since there's a lack of communication and involvement of the community.😂

My suggestion is to reconsider the" #polls-giveaway "channel from the WoM2's Discord server, for what it once used to be, I'll give you an example, and that's the last poll in which the community was involved into sharing their opinion about different aspects of the game which involve gameplay, and that was a long long time ago...

I think that doing as little as that would reduce the so called "HATRED", between the STAFF and the community, since there'll be more communication between the both groups, and also, the community will be able to share their opinion on different matters this way.

Let me know what you're thinking about my suggestion,

Thanks! 😄

Hi,

Thank you for your post. I would argue that the relationship between the community and the team is stronger.

The main reason we no longer use Discord polls is that they've largely been replaced by the Suggestions category on the forum, the one you're able to discuss this topic with me right as we speak (or write), which provides much more room for discussion. Players can share their opinions, debate different perspectives, build on existing suggestions & contribute to a more meaningful conversation.

Polls, on the other hand, don't always reflect the complexity of a topic or leave enough room for different viewpoints, especially when it comes to more nuanced decisions. This year alone, we've accepted and implemented over 150 suggestions from players, which I think speaks to how valuable this approach of forum suggestions has been. Personally, I would only consider bringing back polls for straightforward quality-of-life (QoL) improvements that don't affect game balance, if at all.

Warm wishes,
Essence.

@Essence can we get a list of all the 150 suggestions? that sounds very interesting
Hi,

I'm pulling the information from our workspace, where each suggestion has its own dedicated "folder." Some may have originally come from the Discord Suggestions channel, but either way, you can filter the forum posts here by the "Accepted" label to see all accepted suggestions. As much as some people may dislike the forum suggestions category, it will not be replaced.

Warm wishes,
Essence.

Hello,
I'll tell you why I think that the relationship between the STAFF and the community is weak from my perspective, and that's why:
1. When certain things happened such as having some STAFF members quit, there wasn't any information regarding their resignation, whilst there should have been some info such as, Team member X isn't a member of the STAFF anymore, and possibly the reason of why that happened, I consider this lack of communication...

2. Even if there's communication on the forum, it only happens when some players suggest changes, not when the STAFF has certain ideas about different features/gameplay changes, that turned out to be something the community didn't like , there were some changes/features that weren't suggested by anyone, and a poll/opening a discussion on forum, about these certain features would have involved the community and of course, it would have improved the STAFF--> Community relationship...

That's my whole take on the #polls-giveaways channel on discord...

Thank you!

Hi,

We're not obligated to publicly announce when a staff member leaves, let alone explain the reasons behind their departure. Our former team members have the same right to privacy as anyone else, and it's not our place to disclose their personal decisions or circumstances to the community. If you're friends with someone who has left the team, I'm sure they'd be willing to share their reasons with you if they felt comfortable doing so, but expecting us to explain someone's departure to complete strangers crosses a boundary. Transparency is important, but it shouldn't come at the expense of someone's privacy.

Furthermore, leaving the staff team doesn't necessarily mean leaving the community permanently. There's always the possibility that former members might return and we have no intention of burning bridges or treating their departures as permanent or as something that requires a public explanation. I understand wanting to stay informed about changes within the team, but there's a difference between communicating relevant organizational changes and publicly discussing someone's personal circumstances. Our responsibility is to keep the community informed about matters that affect the game, not to disclose the private decisions of our ex-staff.

Warm wishes,
Essence.

Hello,
I'm sorry it sounded the way it did, but I didn't know that some members aren't part of the STAFF anymore until recently, that's why I gave this example...:(

Also, what about the second point that I made, what's your opinion on this?
