Accepted Communication between WoM2 team members

Hello WoM2 team — I’d like to thank you for the Halloween event and for posting the breakdown on the 24th. There was a mismatch between the forum post and the actual spinning‑wheel drops, as we all know by now. I want to let you know that this post isn’t about jumping on the hate train that’s currently going on on discord, it’s just my personal concern and suggestions to prevent this sort of issues in the future. Before publishing event details or any information to the players, get a confirmation from the developer about the update. Maybe, whenever possible, have staff members verify the drops against that confirmation. You guys could keep a simple shared change log listing event tweaks, dates - the devs could update it when possible and the other team members could have just read-only rights to the document, so you guys are sure no accidental edits happen.

I don’t like the hate that Areya gets on discord and I don’t think it’s 100% Areya’s fault or that Areya should be bullied for it - indeed accidents happen (some larger than others - you guys remember the exo in itemshop drama from the first server year?).
It’s easy to say “yeah the team sucks, they can’t communicate basic stuff from one another” and so on but that doesn’t fix the overall issue.
Some people are way too dramatic imo - yeah we all lost either irl money or yang but at the end of the day it's just pixels.. Chill.

And no, I'm not sucking up to the team with this take.

"we'll be improving our internal communication"

Statement made on 26th of October 2025 - but those that are here from the very start know how many times we've listened to such promises and how "miscommunication" is something that happens quite often within the WoM staff.

As an example, about half a year ago, I was muted for talking another language in chat - totally valid. Next day, bunch of people talking other languages in chat - I PM Mamut and ask him why he's not muting those people (they were spamming other languages) and Mamut's reply was that "we've stopped muting people for other languages ages ago".

Of course, it's because only Baloo enforced this rule mostly - naturally, over the course of the following months, communication improved and now we have people getting muted accordingly, regardless of which staff member is online.

TL;DR regarding miscommunication - if you're not new here, you know this has been a problem since before the server actually launched. It actually makes me both sad and amused that we're still being fed the same old line that "we'll improve moving forward" - we heard this from Essence, from Areya, from a couple other vanished red-forum-names, but it doesn't seem that this problem goes away.

The "hate train in discord" isn't directed to Areya specifically infact i have good opinion for that staff member since she/he idk is very active and provides responses timely. Nothing like threads here on forum as there are many which get subtle responses or 0 at all

Also i can agree that fixig communication issues for ppl managing a server as a job isn't that big of a thing or at least it shouldn't be imo. Still i haven't managed a server but since they are a capable team they should find a way

Hi,

Thank you for your input. We acknowledged that a mistake was made and we acted quickly to fix it and provide compensation. While mistakes can happen, I believe we’ve always aimed to respond promptly and fairly. Following this incident, we held several internal meetings to discuss how we can improve communication across departments and staff members Moving forward, with greater attention to clarity and coordination, we hope to prevent similar issues from occurring again.

Warm wishes,
Essence.
