Chapter 4

I just want to start by saying this isn’t meant as a complaint. I really enjoy the server and appreciate the work being done. That said, I think a lot of people in the community are hoping to hear more about what’s coming with Chapter 4.

So far, we've only seen a couple of sneak peeks—two about PvP changes and another about a possible new dungeon. But with all the talk about a “big patch,” it feels like there’s more going on behind the scenes that hasn’t been shared yet.

Here are a few points I know a lot of players are curious about:

  • Is Meley finally being introduced?
  • What about the level 100 map?
  • Will there be changes to the Level 90 Beta Stones/Bosses?
  • Any updates on the Lost King Treasury maps for Level 90 maps?
  • And what’s the status on the fishing system rework that was accepted on the forum? (The one about fishing pole skin changer)
  • Will there finally be a buff to the Sura (pvm)?
  • Will there be any changes to the level 45–50 stones, since they’re pretty much worthless for farming right now?
  • Will the average damage on weapons ever be increased above 50?
  • Can you give us an approximate date for when the update will be released?

With every passing day, more and more players are quitting the game, and it's not hard to see why. The lack of updates and new content has left the community feeling neglected. We’ve been waiting for Chapter 4 for what feels like an eternity, and during that time, all we’ve seen are minor patches that delivered nothing new/challenging to the community.

The longer we wait, the higher our expectations grow. At this point, Chapter 4 isn’t just an update, it’s what many players see as the last hope for the game. We're expecting substantial content additions, long-awaited bug fixes, and much-needed QOL improvements that we've been asking for repeatedly. These aren’t new request, we’ve submitted them through countless suggestions threads, support tickets, and Forum discussions. Most of the time, we either get no response or the usual “we’ll forward it to the team,” with no visible results.

It’s discouraging to feel like our voices aren’t being heard, especially when the player base is shrinking and the community is becoming less active by the day. The game still has potential, and there are many of us who want to stay and keep playin, but we need a reason to.

I truly hope Chapter 4 is not only released ASAP but also delivers on the expectations that we have been building up for months, otherwise, I am sure that many more players, even the loyal ones, will move on for good.

The Player base ist still consinsent and new players find the server.
Its a fun server. And its still metin2 you have to take the server as it is.
Years ago we had even less from a offiziell or P-servers side with the difference that players initiate more in the game.

i would suggest to take away Fragment Chaos System, Dojang and Changer drop.
Some ungrateful players just dont deserve it.

What does this have to do with the topic?

Its true that some new players may still join from time to time, the server clearly shows a decline in active players. Just log in during different times of the day, you’ll often see fewer shops open, less activity in core maps, and many guilds going inactive. A consistent player base isn’t just about having some people around, it’s about maintaining momentum and engagement, which the server has been losing due to the issues i mentioned earlier.

Second, the idea that "we should take the server as it is because it's Metin2" misses the point. Yes, it's Metin2, and many of us have been playing it for 10+ years. But precisely because we've been loyal for so long, we know what the game could be with the right support and updates. When other servers (official or private) offer consistent content, events, and community interaction, it’s only fair for players here to expect the same, especially after months with no major updates.

Constructive criticism is a sign that we care. Many of us have spent time giving feedback not to complain, but because we want the server to improve and succeed.

Lastly, what i mentioned in my first comment isn't just a personal opinion. Go through the forum threads, Discord chats, and in-game conversations, and you will find many players expressing the same frustration: lack of updates, bugs not fixed, ignored feedback, and rising expectations that remain unmet. This isn’t about complaining, it’s about wanting a better experience for a game we all enjoy.

We all want the server to succeed. The best way to make that happen is to listen to the community and respond to what the majority actually needs, not to silence or dismiss them.

Its starting to be patethic to be honest... Last *somewhat* big update was in august... Chapter 4 isnt even teased for the moment and nobody seems to give a fk. The game needs to evolve so players can also evolve, since everybody and their mom is camping WB and so on. And the team's response to this will be the big old "if we have some news we ll announce them" or "more details coming soon" soon-1 day before the update. Its a shame...

I just want to say I completely agree with what’s being brought up here. This isn’t meant to be an attack or a complaint for the sake of complaining—most of us enjoy the server and appreciate the hard work. But at the same time, it’s fair to say that communication from the staff has been seriously lacking lately, especially with all the hype surrounding Chapter 4. Even now, I'm sure that they will ignore this discussion like they have many times before.

Hi guys,

works are in progress and when time comes you will get information about upcoming update. Now, yes i know its taking too much tome already and we appreciate your patience but we dont have 100 people working in our team.
We will see what we can "leak" about it for you and if possible soon.

Regards

Hello Asteria,

We really do appreciate the hard work being put in, especially as you mentioned with a small team. That said, I think many of us in the community are wondering: if other servers with similar or even smaller teams are managing to release consistent updates and content, why can't the same be achieved here?

We’re not asking for a team of 100 developers or anything unrealistic. But considering the current pace of the server and how active the player base is, especially with features like the Battle Pass that require monthly attention and testing, it feels like there should be a structured team big enough to keep up. For example, while one or two devs work on BP testing, others could be preparing broader updates, uncluding new content, bug fixes and qol upgrades in parallel.

This isn’t meant as a complaint or to tell anyone how to do their job, we understand it’s a complex process. It’s just that the server is clearly doing well financially, with many players regularly buying DC, and that success should ideally be matched with a development pace that meets the expectations. A leak or two doesn't address the problem, we got a leak a month ago, and another the month before, and till now, no updates yet.

We all want to see the server shine and continue to grow, and we’re still here because we believe in its potential. We just hope that going forward, the team structure can better reflect the pace and momentum of the community.

Thanks!

I understand that the changes might take a while, but at least, I don't know... make a little presentation about what's coming. It's not like you'd be leaking anything. You don't need to go into detail—just say something like, "There will be a new map" or "A new dungeon is on the way." Mention that the Beta Stones will be buffed, etc. I dont think it would be that time consuming to communicate these little things with the community.

Hi again,

short answer: you will get something very soon 🙂

It would take less time for an average person to learn to write Metin2 code from scratch than it takes this team to modify old files and apply slight balance changes 😂

Theyre just making sure that the patch doesnt break helia for another year 🤣

Helia is now even worse, spaws are fix now, it's no longer 4 hours after a kill, if you try to exit sometimes ultra instinct triggers and a new cooldown starts, skill commands disappear, etc...
