I don't know about the rest of the Polish community, but in my case, the new patcher runs three times slower than the old one. File verification can take 10 seconds, but it can also take up to 3 minutes.
I know this is a limited test, but I wanted to report it somewhere and also gather feedback from other players. Today it is definitely the slowest (about 5 minutes without downloading anything at all), hence this post.

And the situation I'm describing only applies to the first launch of the day, with the first client.

After that, it actually works quite nice :).

Hi,

Thanks for reporting it. This is expected to some degree, especially on the first launch of the day / first client launch. The new patcher may need to refresh cached data or perform extra verification, so the first run can be slower than later ones.

Either way, I’ll pass this information to our team. Please keep reporting anything that seems to behave strangely.

Warm wishes,
Essence.

This release was primarily focused on transitioning to our new platform, which also addresses hard-freezes that some players were experiencing on faster networks/modern hardware. It lays the groundwork for a much better experience going forward, and over the coming days and weeks we’ll be carefully fine-tuning every aspect so that every player gets the smoothest possible experience.

What you’re describing comes down to how your storage drive handles file verification. On our test machines, full verification completes in under 500ms-1500ms, so the patcher itself isn’t the bottleneck — it’s how fast your disk can read all the game files.

The first launch of the day is always the slowest because your system needs to read everything fresh from disk. After that, your OS keeps the files cached in memory, which is why every launch after the first feels much smoother — exactly as you noticed. 🙂

Verification speed varies a lot depending on the type of drive (HDD vs SATA SSD vs NVMe), so different players will see very different times. If you ever consider moving the client to a faster drive, you’d see a noticeable improvement on that first daily launch too.

Hi,

Perfect. I’m glad we’ve cleared that up. I’ll go ahead and close this thread now. If you encounter anything that is out of the ordinary with the patcher, don't hesitate to create a thread in the Bugs section or send us an e-mail to support. Happy gaming!

Warm wishes,
Essence.
