7-day pets on the item mall

Hello everyone, I just wanted to launch this discussion (which may have happened in the past).

I do not know if I am moving on pure nostalgia or something, but I am not very fond of the heavy usage of extra pushes, which I believe is not the essence of WoM2.

To my knowledge, WoM was always about focus on equipment and character progression with little to no pushes on the side.
This (and other aspects) led to the creation of two important systems on the server:
- Pet system.
- Costume system.

I remember the big discussion that was the push for the costumes to be purely cosmetic (and now we see a lot of bonuses for costumes).
The legacy Pet system is amazing and I understand the 7-day pets from special events and the battle pass, that is fine, it is just quirky, but availability at all times?
Are we going slowly into pay 2 win?

This is my 2 cents. Would like to know your opinion.

These 7 day pets were on the og wom too so what's your point? XD
I played until 2019 and there weren't any. If that is the case, then my whole argument is flushed I guess. From what I remember, the pet system was only to get to a mount

indeed old wom had pets at some point but still the server is goin to a very easy climb mode.Do we really need this kind of boost?no.Is it just for money like easter events with the tickets?yes like 4%monster and x2 10% rez when u need for an extra 4% monster for +6 stone like 4-5kkk but let them do there thing its not our server after all

That is the thing, right? Like, there are a lot of things I do not like that are going on, such as the battle pass and the weapon costumes. But I have no problem with that since it is "what we have to pay" to keep the server not pay2win. However, when there are items on the item shop that their only purpose is giving boost, I am not very fond of it. As you said, those kinds of bonuses cost a lot of ig money, and if some people are able to put some money in the game, they can instantly get it. I understand that the server needs money to survive, but surely there are other ways. We do not even receive dragon coins for voting, it is just magic coins and it takes 10 days to get a 7 day glove. Before, you had that glove secured, since it was 30 days and you could get it in a week. I would like to hear from the team regarding their vision on these parts, maybe in the bigger picture it makes sense..

I think these new pets are very bad overall, people grinding hard for good equipment and alchemy and now you have these pets available and it makes everything way easier, personally i would leave 2 pets only and thats for exp so you can lvl chars and some kind of dmg, but not these resistance pets.
There are other options to put into the item shop that are not as op as these pets.
Cheers

Exactly, some kind of EXP bonus or even Yang bonus is completely fine. But when it affects directly the gameplay.. Basically, no matter how much you invest, someone can get it easier by charging up the credit card

i don’t think 75 DC per week is p2w. besides that, I want them to make money so they can pay the developers to work on the server

and +1 to Cluss, the resistance pet seems very, very helpful, and i’m not sure if that’s a good thing

Honestly, I was a bit torn up whether I like the pets or not.
While I am not hyperventilating about them being introduced, if asked directly, I would also prefer to not have them introduced in the first place.

The main reason is simply that the PvM balance is already pretty good in my opinion. PvM is tough enough so that you have to use your brain a bit, but it is not impossibly hard to a point where you need entirely perfect equipment for any content.
For example, you can do everything in this game with incomplete CL1 alchemy, and not maxed equipment, if you make sure your equipment has synergy and the correct bonuses of course.

The pets now will lower the threshold even more, which arguably might make PvM too effortless.
However, there are 2 sides to this.

Pets are strong, but rather expensive.
If you want to permanently use a pet, you are spending 340 DC / 28 days, or the amount of roughly two 30 day premium packs, so it is not a "free boost".
Instead, an evaluation needs to be made. For example, if you can already comfortably farm Aqua Drake, it would be a waste of money to invest into a the pet, that only offers 4 mob besides the resistances for this price. However, an argument can be made, that if you are on the edge of surviving, taking the 10% extra resistance is worth, either just for comfort or for being able to reliably farm the dungeon in the first place.
And this just goes for one dungeon. If you lets say struggle on certain metins or another dungeon as well, you would need to pay 680 DC / 28 days for 2 pets.

So, due to the rather high price of the pets, the pets would mainly be used by people who are just pushing into new content, or, who simply want to have the permanent comfort of the extra resistances and are fine with paying the price for it.
If you view it this way, it is not as bad anymore.

In conclusion, I personally don't think introducing the pets will "break the server concept" or anything, and I rather see it as a subjective preference, if having the option for the pets or not is beneficial.

Me personally - I am rather indifferent, with a slight tendency towards "would rather not have them", though.
